My stitched block from Anita Goodesign's
"On Point Toile" quilt collection.

I’ve been sewing since I was 10. Several years ago, my husband bought me a 6-needle embroidery machine that perked my interest in quilting. After using an Anita Goodesign quilt design to complete a quilt for my mother-in-law, I became interested in quilting without the embroidery machine. This started my quilting journey.

In 2021, I joined a couple of local quilt guilds and started immersing myself into the quilt world. Now I've added long-arm machining to my learning experience. I must admit that after using an embroidery machine and getting perfectly stitched pictures, the long arm has a little bit more of a learning curve; especially since I don't have the computer for it. It's all free motion. However, I do find such a joy in my completed products even when the circle is not exactly round, or my feathers vary.

Quilt block is "Dream Big" by Hoffman Fabrics.

I can be very critical of my work but am trying very hard to give myself the opportunity to learn. For example, this panel was the first panel I free-motioned feathers. It is not perfect; however, I'm using it as a learning tool and plan to do another one in six-months to compare growth.

I'm excited to be able to share my successes and failures with you as a learning experience to help you in your quilting, sewing, or embroidery journey. I look forward to your involvement through comments and sharing of your experience as we journey together through this learning experience.
